   Xabi "Jabato" Lopez began his artistic journey with dance and music.

He studied Dramatic Art at the Navarra School of Theater .  He continues his theatrical journey by taking workshops with the teachers Fabio Mangolini (Neutra mask, Italy), Pepa Plana (Clown, Catalunya), Joan Castells (Poetics of space, Catalunya), Anton Valén (Cirque du Soleil, Spain), Pierrick Malebranche (Cie Phillipe Genty, France) and Arturo Gaskins (National Circus of Puerto Rico).

In 2016 he writes, directs and acts in the original play written in Basque "Gaur ez da inoiz" for the theater company "Distopia antzerkia". He works as an actor for different plays and companies.

In 2017 he attends the annual training at the Cabuia School of Theater Creation and Movement , Buenos Aires. He works on various theatrical texts, as well as for the project "Jabato Lopez" where he plays the role of singer and lyricist. As a pedagogue he has given workshops in Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Germany and the Basque Country. She works with a group on gender and equality "acts", educating with theater in institutes and public institutions.  

 

He currently co-directs and acts in the Swiss- based company DesAires, in which he co-directs and acts for the piece “ Depolvoeres ”.

At the same time he writes and directs his own solo acts such as "Ay! El Chiquirritín" or "Amórica" .

 

In 2019 co-stars in the fiction series " Ihesaldia " and in 2020 he co-stars in the series, “ Beti Mugan ”. Recently, he has released the original work written and directed by himself, “ Apotheòsis Buffo ”. He performs at the CDN (National Dramatic Center) in the play “Los Papeles de Sisifo”. His new project with DesAires is in process, supported and produced by the École Dimitri (Switzerland).

 

In 2021 he begins the creation of the work " My son only walks a little slower " for the Tanttaka company.
